Appointment with Hays Recruitment at their Eagle Street, Brisbane today at 2pm. It went quite well, more a case of Hays figuring out where my key skills were and getting an idea of the local job market. I'm getting the impression that Brisbane isn't exactly leading the way in terms of industry as the consultant stated the city shuts down for Christmas and New Year until next week. Weird.

Interview with CITEC done! The interview was held at their Edward Street, Brisbane office. I felt I gave a good account of myself and will know within the next 2 to 4 weeks if I've been successful. I was the last person to be interviewed, which I was expecting, but the person who signs off on jobs is on holiday for another couple weeks!

Applied for my tax file number via the Tax Office. A simple 5 minute job that can be done online. It should arrive within the next 28 days. Kinda need it for work and tax purposes.

On landing into Sydney, we were picked up by a friend & will be staying with her and her boyfriend for the next couple days. Our abode is in Newtown, Sydney.

Landed into Sydney soon after 6am local time, feeling tired and needing a shower. Customs and Immigration was a breeze, no questions asked & beat my wife to the baggage carousel! She did not like that.

The final act before flying out to Australia was seeing 'Matilda - The Musical' at the Cambridge Theatre in London's West End. I was pleasantly surprised with how good it was & felt it was a fitting way to say good-bye to England.
